Yeah, it's cool. But arguably not as nice as this, which uses a Sony U750P (running TabletPC edition) + docking station, includes all the goodies the Mac mini has minus the dvd drive AND includes Wifi and doesn't take up your whole glove compartment.

I have to wonder how this affects airflow for the mini. Hopefully the thing won't melt melt through the glove compartment of his nice Lexus on the first hot day.

Hot day - its a Lexus. Air Con is always on...

How does the touchscreen communicate with the mini? Most touch screens have serial out at best. Does the mini talk to it thru USB? Does the Pioneer have USB out? Are you using a serial to USB converter? Can the touchscreen even talk to to the mini without a special driver? Why even use a Pioneer mega $1000 unit when you could use a PDA running VNC, build a cool mount for it that pivots or a dock, run 1/8" audio out of the Mac or use a USB 24 bit sound interface and a regular old power amp. No regular radio needed. Plus, with some hacked software tied into the mini and some relays, you could start your car remotely from the PDA via WIFI by VNC with the Mac in sleep mode.

I am wondering about the power setup on this car. Do you have to wait for the mini to boot? Do you have a back-up battery so that you can put it to sleep instead of powering down? Looks cool though. Hopefully we'll get some good software.

Looking at what great lengths people go to do absolutely stupid things, I computer in a car how remarkable. For a grand you can buy, no wait wait this is a revelation: you can buy a computer that goes in your car and......... anywhere else. ITS CALLED A LAPTOP!!!!! Imagine the possibilities. Honestly some people don't deserve new technology, they just wind up putting DVD players in horse drawn buggies.

Ran across a website that has an interview with the guy who owns the car.
His setup includes Wifi so its arguably just as nice.

No Republican could ever get an honorary degree from Notre Dame because they are all pro-Death Penalty which is against the doctrine of the Catholic Church.
